  • Proactive Suggestions & Browser Memories: ChatGPT can offer suggestions and automate routine tasks based on your browsing history and current context. With “Browser Memories,” Atlas remembers key details from sites you visit to provide smarter recommendations. It can help you find what you’re looking for, dig deeper into a topic, or even complete tasks for you. Imagine asking your browser to “find all the job postings I was looking at last week and create a summary of industry trends so I can prepare for interviews.” That’s the power of Atlas.
  • Agent Mode: This is where things get really interesting. In Agent Mode, you can delegate tasks to ChatGPT, and it will open tabs, click links, and fill out forms to complete the task for you. In my own testing, I asked it to research the top dental clinics in the central United States, create a spreadsheet with the findings, and even draft a cold outreach email. It did all of this in minutes, a task that would have taken a human hours. This is a massive productivity unlock for sales, research, and administrative tasks.

The Shot Across Google’s Bow

Make no mistake: this is a direct challenge to Google’s dominance in search. For years, Google has been the gatekeeper of the internet, the starting point for almost every web journey. But with ChatGPT Atlas, OpenAI is offering a new front door to the web, one that is conversational, interactive, and personalized.
